2SLGBTQIA+ Grief Support Group

Closed support group for adults 18+ who identify within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community who have expereinced the loss of a loved one.

This is a mixed-loss grief support group facilitated by trained Grief Facilitators who have experienced loss and identify as peers with those in attendance. The Bereavement Support Group provides a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space to share, connect with others, gain support and learn coping strategies to navigate through grief. A closed group provides a safe and consistent space to become familiar with each other, build bonds, and explore topics and themes specific to the group members needs.

This program is 8 weeks in length.

Held virtually over Zoom

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group

This closed support group is for anyone who has experienced a miscarriage, still birth or the death of an infant up to 6 months of age. Facilitated by our trained Grief Facilitators who have also experienced a perinatal loss. This support group provides an opportunity to share and gain support from others in a safe environment. With having a closed group, this means once the group has begun no more participants may join. This allows the group to become familiar with each other, build bonds and have discussions of emerging topics and themes.

The program is 10 weeks in length.

Bereaved Parents Support Group

This is a closed combined group with or without your spouse/partner.

This group is facilitated by our trained Grief Facilitators who have experienced with adult and young child loss. The Bereaved Parents Support Group provides an opportunity to learn coping strategies, share and gain support from others in a safe environment. With having a closed group, this means once the group has begun, no more participants may join. This allows the group to become familiar with each other, build bonds and have discussions of emerging topics and themes.

The program is either 8 or 10 weeks in length.

Healing with Hope

Mixed Loss Adult Support Group

Closed mixed loss support group for adults of all ages (18+) for any type of loss.

This group is facilitated by our trained Grief Facilitators who have experience with multiple loss and compound grief. The Bereavement Support Group provides an opportunity to learn coping strategies, share and gain support from others in a safe environment. With having a closed group, this means once the group has begun, no more participants may join. This allows the group to become familiar with each other, build bonds and have discussions of emerging topics and themes.

The closed group program is 8 weeks in length.

M.A.i.D Support Group

This is a closed group for adults who have experienced a medically assisted death of a loved one.

This a confidential and compassionate support group facilitated by two professional and specifically trained Grief Facilitators. The M.A.i.D Support Group provides an opportunity to learn coping strategies, share and gain support from others in a safe environment. With having a closed group, this means once the group has begun, no more participants may join. This allows the group to become familiar with each other, build bonds and have discussions of emerging topics and themes.

This support group was developed from the support from Hamilton Health Sciences and with the funding support by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

This FREE program is 8 weeks in length.

Seniors Support Group

Closed support group for adults 60+ who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

This is a mixed-loss support group facilitated by our trained Grief Facilitators who have experience with a variety of significant losses. The Bereavement Support Group provides an opportunity to learn coping strategies, share, and gain support from others in a safe environment, through activities tailored to the needs of seniors. A closed group means once the group has begun, no more participants may join. This allows the group to become familiar with each other, build bonds, and discuss emerging topics and themes.

This program is 8 weeks in length.

All our support groups are FREE. These support groups are all led by highly trained compassionate and caring Grief Facilitators who have also experienced the loss of a loved one pertaining to the group they are facilitating. Most have started as group participants and are now ready and trained to give back. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for support.
